Parking Brake Cable Interchange?

I have a 1968 GMC, I have a few 1971-72 front ebrake cables around. The cable which in this case would mount to the handle in the cab, route out of firewall and lead under the cab and the cable end has the threaded end.

Looks a bit longer than what the 67-68 might be. Anyone used one?

Re: Parking Brake Cable Interchange?

I got it on, spread the u shaped bracket wide enough for the handle, looks good. There is an excessive amount or loop in engine compartment . Threaded end appears to be in right spot. Not sure I like the excessive cable in engine area though.
