Hood rockets

I was at a car show in Savannah, Ga a few weeks ago and saw this nice TF. I had seen pictures before but this was the first truck I had ever seen up close with hood rockets. After seeing them up close I have changed my mind about them. If I had seen a NOS pair of these before I probably have forked over up to $500 for a set but I don't think I want them any more. The hood is rather tall and the rockets seem to be a little out of proportion height wise. Maybe if the hood was pancaked so it wasn't so tall they would look better, but for now I think I'm out of the hunt for a set. I didn't get to talk to the owner of the truck and he left pretty quick so I don't know anything about it, other than it was nice.

Re: Hood rockets

Can't argue that Capnduane but there is that brigade that think bolting on every shiny trinket they can find is "customizing" their truck even if the trinket (s) detract from the look of the truck.

I'm not digging the white letter tires and Cragers with the rest of the truck. They just don't match what it has going on.

Re: Hood rockets

Seeing this truck has saved me a lot of $$$. I'm a chrome junkie but I think I've reached the chrome overload state. I think I'll skip the bumper guards also, which I previously thought I wanted. I agree with Mr48, I didn't think the wheel/tire combo fit the vibe of the rest of the truck.

Re: Hood rockets

I don't know about you guys complaining about the Cragers. I would so run Cragers on any car I've ever owned if I could afford it.
There just isn't a better looking custom wheel made, then or now. But then, maybe it's just because I'm old.

Won't argue about the rockets or bumper guards, though, they're over the top.
