59 L6 235 Fuel Filter location

I want to change the fuel filter on my 59 apache but can't find one. I have done some research, including looking over the shop manual and I don't see where it is. Is it possible that the truck has never had one, I have included pictures, as you can see the truck is very much orginal, including the oil bath air filter. If there isn't one, and I want to put one in. Want is the best way to install an inline filter with the stock metal fuel lines?

Very possible it never had one. They usually had a glass bowl on teh pump that wa used and a filetr water sererator of sorts. If you put a filter on place it before the pump that way you keep trash and sand out of the pump valves.

Factory Assembly Manual does not show a fuel filter. Stay away from the glass or plastic ones. I installed a hot rod type with spin on filter before the fuel pump.

Re: 59 L6 235 Fuel Filter location

Thanks for the help. I'm trying to keep the truck stock as possible, I don't like the idea of cutting the orginal metal lines but in this case I don't see where I have much of choice. I did find the pic of what OrrieG did on his build thread. I think I will go a with something similiar.

OrrieG love your work and your truck.

Thanks again
