Headliner/Roof support rail removal

Hi, my 1970 K20 (lovingly referred to as the giraffe) is in the process of restoration. Just wondering if the support rails that run along the roof on the interior can be removed or if they are permanent. If i can remove and re-install that would beneficial, but if not I will manage.

I am not sure what pieces you are referring to. Can you post a photo?

Those are spot welded in so you will have to work around them....
