I finally bought a GMC

Well, I've posted before that I wanted a GMC 3/4 ton to tow a car trailer for the hot rod. I was originally looking for an '03 to '05 3/4 ton, but I stumbled upon this new leftover 2006 GMC Sierra 2500 HD SLE. After two days they finally agreed to sell it to me at the price I was willing to pay.

Now for my questions...

I was trying to find the specs for this truck online but I can't seem to be able to, are there any sites out there to check out for specs?

What kind of things should I look out for? Common problems?

I'll only be using this thing for towing so what kind of modifications should I look for and which ones should I avoid?

What's the difference between an SLE1 and an SLE2?

Well what kind of specs are you looking for, they all should be listed on the glove box door, check out Fullsizechevy.com I believe they may have a list of all the RPO codes, and a breakdown as to what they entail... Suck as G80 is a rear locker(gov-lock) the 3 letter codes should all correspond to the options and specs, if this is what you are after. Also, are you really in South Korea? Because I see an American flag in the background... what gives? Good luck with 'er.

I am currently stationed in South Korea, I was in SoCal on vacation and stumbled across the truck. It'll stay in SoCal until I get back state side.

Thanks, not quite sure why the pic did that on these forums.

Re: I finally bought a GMC

I'm finally back in the USA and I'm stationed in AL now. I drove here from SoCal with a 28' enclosed car trailer loaded down, and I got about 10 MPG. Someone tried to steal the truck & trailer in NM while I was eating lunch. I parked right in front of the McDonalds so I'd be able to see it...never saw anyone messing with the truck, but when I got out there the lock was popped but they still couldn't get in. They must have low crawled up to the thing to pop it....

My father had a Rhino Liner put in it, but it didn't set properly so they're having to redo it (which means I have to take a trip to FL now).

After I get the new Rhino Liner, I need to get a tool box, running boards, defelctors, mud flaps and stuff.

What are some good sites for accessories?

Locally we have a place called Southern Truck Accessories (STO) which seems to be a chain in the South East, but they don't have a website (at least not one that I can find). I was tempted to buy a tool box from Lowes (Kobalt) but decided to ask what people like here since I have some time before I have to get the accessories.

Don't let them spray Rino on your truck if the weather is bad. High humidity applications with this stuff is no good by what I've experienced.
