Leaf spring clamps

I'm sure this is an easy answer sort of question but I'm just making sure.

I got the front leaf springs all cleaned up. Should I replace the clamps with some in the 2nd pic?

In the third pic I show where one of my original ones broke.

And why is there a clamp on one end but not on the other side on both sides?

Re: Leaf spring clamps

Guess it would help if that 2nd pic was up. It didn't want to load, I just googled spring clamps...

Re: Leaf spring clamps

All the clamp does is keep the spring pack from feathering out..one is all thats needed...usually the clamps arnt really "clamping"...just more so holding them in line...and yes...replace the broke one...

Re: Leaf spring clamps

I was wondering about that. They weren't exactly tightly clamped down. So revamp them best I can and replace broke one. Snug but not super tight?
