52 short box bed mounts

Does anyone make a kit to not have to use the wood block to bolt down the bed to the frame?

Re: 52 short box bed mounts

They have a lot of nifty stuff at great prices but don't get in a snit of it takes a lot longer than you think it should for the parts to show up. I ordered a park light lens for my 77 and it took over a week to get. Lens was perfect but a previous owner had installed a left side park light/turn signal housing in the right side of the truck. That whole truck was a cobbled together mess when I got it though.

If you can figure out the heights you need you could weld some up out of square tubing and use a piece of sidewall from a junk tire for the rubber insulator.

77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

Re: 52 short box bed mounts

I've seen guys make steel extensions for the body mounts out of square tubing.

Re: 52 short box bed mounts

It may have just been what I ordered or when I ordered it. Sometimes it is just how the post office, UPS or Fed Ex routes the package during shipping.

Almost all UPS or Fedex packages coming from Cali or Oregon into Central Washington go past my house at 4 am when both the fed ex and UPS trucks roll up the road together. I knew I was on time headed to work when they passed my driveway when I was pulling out to go to work.

I have been spoiled with fast shipping so much that when my last order from LMC took 6 days (4 business days) to get, I was a little out of sorts. of course LMC is only 2 1/2 hours away, had I known I would have just driven there and saved the 30 dollars in shipping (gas likely would have been 30 dollars)

I have a set of the rubber mounts in my 52, I dont remember where I had ordered them from. Probably 10 years ago or more. I installed them when trying to get my truck out of storage and mounting the bed for the first time in 20 years. I think they are at 2.25 x 2.25in . I can double check. I might actually have a spare or two laying around.

Re: 52 short box bed mounts

Thanks for the info. I didn't want to put together with the wood blocks again. I replaced the 20 years ago. I feel I got my moneys worth but there had to be a better way.

I've disassembled many a Model A that the wooden components outlasted the steel.
