Where to locate high quality & correct battery cables?

The terminal in this picture was at the starter on my 71. The cable may have been original, though for whatever it's worth was for a top post battery.

If you ask me, this terminal is the correct way to hook-up to the starter. Does anyone know where to find a high quality cable with this or a similar terminal?

Must be some great cables out there. Perhaps without the terminal? On a side, every starter I've seen on these trucks has a provision for the tab on the terminal.

This one doesn't look bad. I hear they're supposed to be 45", but okay. http://www.classicparts.com/1972-Bat...8g#prettyPhoto[gallery] nofollow/0/

Re: Where to locate high quality & correct battery cables?

The tab is to keep it from rotating and allowing the cable to touch the exhaust manifold. There are a number of places where you can get 90 degree cable lugs but I've never seen any with that tab. I built myself a set of 1ga cables and just used the 90 degree and haven't had any issues. I've got all the stuff to make custom cables, just no time right now to do any. I'm planning to start offering them for sale as soon as I get my shop finished.

These are similar to what I use but I have a supplier that makes heavier ones.

Re: Where to locate high quality & correct battery cables?

I have bought cables from this company custombatterycables.com in the recent past for my 1980 Suburban, and was very pleased. The positive cable has the 90 degree post almost identical to your picture but without the rotation limiting tab, which I was not aware of before seeing your example. Works fine for me.

Thanks for that and noted. Wholly smokes, they need someone to build a front end for their website. YIKES!

If in business again & think about it, please look me up. I shouldn't need them for a long while. Frame off and still in pull mode.
