Just curious if anyone in NJ will change my rockers.

It's a lot of work. Have you been to any local shops yet? Up in northern NJ "restoration" shops will do it at a labor rate of over 100 bucks an hour.

Thanks, i was just curious about the pricing if anyone had it professional done. i think it is a little out of my price range, so i will attempt to do it my self. I am pretty confident with all the information on the web on replacing them, that i can do it. if it cost only like 500 to have it done would of been alot easier to pay. lol

Just a word of caution, if you decide to do it yourself. Try to do a full mockup before welding everything. My front floor braces were still good so I used them as a base for setting the floor/rockers up and for some reason they ended up 1/4" narrower on both sides. So the doors hung out over the rockers. Needed a lot of work to get things flushed up.

Make sure before you weld the rocker in place to use a couple screws to hold it in place and hang the door and make sure it all lines up. If not make the adjustments then weld it.

That's crazy. After you've done a couple they can be done pretty quickly.

Both, probably less than a day unless they discover more damage underneath.

Most likely there will be more to it once the outer rocker is off. Almost all are gonna need inners and possibly the floor section. If all that has damage it isn't out of the realm to need A and B pillar repair. That is what really eats up the shops time. as far as just outer rockers yeah. I'd do $500 for the pair into high build ready for paint but like said above if you have to replace a lot more once you get in there that is when it could get into cubic dollars. Good luck too bad your not closer.

Check Coopers restoration parts they have great pricing and quick shipment, I ordered a set of door skins on Sunday and they came yesterday
Good advice from the others though, test fit with doors in place and use a couple screws to hold them in place while you tack them into place. Also like said already expect more hidden problems once they are removed assuming you are replacing rust damage

Rockers aren't that bad if you get quality parts. If you get a set of bad ones - you will spend hours to have them line up and look right. Also, as mentioned, there is a high chance there is more rust behind them once you remove them.

There are plenty of how to videos on you tube and build threads on this site. If you don't have a welder - that might prevent you from getting this done cheap as well.

I agree with everything you guys are saying. And i think ive come to the conclusion, due to spring and weather is changing i will leave alone for now and do in winter so i can take my time and do correctly instead of rushing.
