true trac diff

I just struck a deal on a eaton true trac diff for my 14 bolt semi float rear axle. Any one have one in rear? Are they good? I drive mostly all on road now but would like to go off road again. I went almost every week when i lived in colorado. Just cant find any trails around here.

Re: true trac diff

I have never had one in the rear.....but was very happy with the one I had up front.
I ran a Detroit Locker in the rear along with the Tru-Trac. It survived a pretty healthy 454 w/a 4 speed and 40" tires. I did break an axle at the joint one time, that is not the differential's fault, but it does show that it is stronger than the axle istelf.

Re: true trac diff

I was also very happy with the one I had in the front... as long as both wheels were on the ground. I have an aussie locker now though.

Re: true trac diff

I've currently got one in the front too. No problems here.

Re: true trac diff

Very popular with road racers in the rear. I would not hesitate to run it, and would be happy to have one myself as I don't care for how the Gov-Bomb behaves in 14 SF.
