Exclamation 86 K10 project

Its an 86 k10 was auto but guy before me changed it to manual. He told me the only thing that needed to be done was that the clutch needed to be bled. We did that and drove it around the block and it shifted fine. We went to drive it again except this time when i went to downshift it would not go back into to gear.

Does anyone know what might be the problem. One person told me it might be stuck between 4wd and 2wd but we checked that and its not stuck between.

Any ideas on what might be the problem would be great. Thanks.

Re: 85 K10 project

Gotta be patient! Does the trans shift at all? Check the slave cylinder again to make sure it doesn't still have air in it. Is there fluid in your transmission? Have someone press the clutch pedal while someone else is under the vehicle to visually confirm that the slave cylinder is moving the clutch fork (please do this with the vehicle not running). Just because the previous owner said all it needed was for the clutch to be bleed does not mean there was not more work needed.

Re: 85 K10 project

Sorry i know i need to be patient. It has shifted before. We drove it around the block once but when we went to go around again it wouldnt go back into gear. yes the transmission has fluid in it and im not sure how far the slave cylinder is supposed to move the clutch fork.

Also when you try to put it in gear it. you can feel where 1st 2nd 3rd 4th and reverse are at it just feels like its not clicking in. like the shifted needs to move about in inch more for it to go into gear. if that even makes sense.
