2011 6.2 DOD delete. What else?

I have a 2011 6.2 out of a escalade for my 68. I am going to do the dod delete lifters before I install. Anything else anyone would recommend doing while im in there? I have considered installing a car model intake but don't know how much that in tales. Also considering getting the heads reworked while there off. The engine has 68k on it. I dont want to go but so crazy on this engine but if anyone has any advice on what else I might do before I put it back together id appreciate it!

Most people delete the VVT also when doing the DOD. Those heads flow over 300 CFM out of the box, so unless you think something is wrong with them, I would save your money. You could also update your cam and valves springs while you have it all apart. Just some suggestions. I did all of this in my 68 Farmtruck build in my signature below.

LS3 take-off intake w/ fuel rails would be needed...and go for relatively cheap $300-400. I'm not certain if the throttle body would clear the idler pulley then...you may want to search that. If it hits bad...then you would need front accessory changes...which can add up quick.

If it were me taking the heads off...do the LS7 lifter swap, and mate with a mild cam..you can keep the VVT if you get a mild grind. You will need computer flash to turn off the AFM anyway..so might as well get it tweaked for a cam too ? The VVT is a great feature to have...broad power.

Pull valve springs...do a wiggle test on the valves..make sure guides aren't shot. install new springs / seals to control the cam.

if not in the budget...a cam from a LS3 vette takeout would go nicely, and then delete the VVT. Run stock vette LS3 springs. You would kinda be losing one of the best features of this engine though (VVT)
