1/2 versus 3/4 ton steering components

Hi:

Is there a difference between 1/2 and 3/4 tom steering box, Pittman arm and etc? I am working on an ls swap into my 1953 3/4 ton and I am reading a lot about the steering box and header clearance issue with v8 conversions. I see there is a power steering option from CCP and some other vendors for 1/2 ton which may solve the fitment issue.
Thanks
