Brake set up

Hello all,

I am trying to piece together my brake system. My hotside is really close to my stock brake booster and I switched to rear disc brakes with a Ford 9''. I did some research and wanted some one to look over my parts list before I pull the trigger.

Here is my current issue. My booster is 11 inches in diameter and is about an 1/8'' away from the manifold.

I am thinking of this dual 8 inch booster.

With the rear disc added most things I found said to go with a 77-82 Corvette master cylinder and a disc/disc proportioning valve.

Let me know if I am headed down the wrong path or if I should be getting something else. This is a budget build so I don't want to go with anything too fancy. Thanks for your time.

Re: Brake set up

1/8" is way to close....better question is why is it so close? do you have the engine mounted high?..i don't think ive ever seen one that close.the smaller booster is def what youll have to do ..

Re: Brake set up

Thanks Greg. Any input on the MC or proportioning valve?

The engine is higher due to the Z as well as the manifolds are flipped as part of the turbo hotside.

Re: Brake set up

Why not use a 9" booster? it would give you enough clearance.

I was thinking I would get a bit more space since the manifold will get pretty hot. Plus I think a dual 8'' would be more assist than the 9'', correct?
