"Support Bearing" to small
I have purchased two different companies support bearings and both will not slide onto the drive shaft. Do they make different sized bearings or am I just SOL on this one? 1969 C10 6 lug 350 granny 4 speed 2 wheel drive.

I would assume they need pressed on like most bearings.

They will not start on the shaft. The bearing hole is to small.

This shaft has a slight taper from the front to where the bearing needs pressed on. The old bearing slides 3/4 the way up till it grabs.

Re: "Support Bearing" to small
Figured out my own problem. They put a K10 drive shaft in that truck. The parts store told me the stock 69 C10 bearing is 30mm but the K10 is 35mm and 40mm. I do believe that drive shaft will take the 35mm support bearing. FYI for future trouble shooters out there.

Re: "Support Bearing" to small
Well..... The bearing on the K10 will not work with his support bracket. So I took the old bearing apart cleaned it up, repacked it with Lithium, Molly grease and put the seals back in. Pressed the bearing back on and put it all back together with the old bearing replacing the one that would not work in the new part. Took a test drive down the highway: no rubber burning and no smoke, both good signs. So we went on a small road trip in the 69 and it had no problems at all. I think that old bearing from Japan will last 3 life times lol.

Re: "Support Bearing" to small
This is the bearing that will fit on that driveshaft. All one has to do is pop out the new bearing in the support bracket and replace it with this one. Press new bearing on and put it in the new support housing.
This link will give a run down of all the specs to the bearing. National® 88107-BVV - Driveshaft Center Support Bearing 35mm. https://www.carid.com/national/drive...88107-bvv.html

Re: "Support Bearing" to small
Leaf spring trucks use a different style bearing than the trailing arm trucks.

Re: "Support Bearing" to small
The 69 has coils on it. Problem is someone put a heavy duty granny low 4 speed in it and had to use the heavier driveshaft. This made it to where I had to try and guess what was put in this thing. My 68 GMC has 6 lugs and 9 leafs on each side. But it takes the 30mm bearing no problem.
