Ill be leaving the 12 bolt, Ive got a 16 ZO6 that makes 700 to the wheels if I need to go fast.

The 12 bolt will live forever if it doesnt hook.
Big sticky slicks I might be concerned.

Very. Very nice. VA Frontrunner question - did that all fit with the stock fan shroud? I agree it looks like a very nice setup, but curious about the shared real estate.

I never had a fan shroud being a 6. Looking at how close it is to my rad/elect fan set up Id say you don't have room.

Re: Finally found my Unicorn

Started on the Vintage Air system this weekend. I really wanted to do custom hoses so I drove down today and picked up the EZ Clip setup from the factory. Man there nice. So easy to build in the shop and look great. Anybody know off hand what size fitting thread into the factory steering box? Im going to run AN lines to it.

Great truck. I'm swapping a 427 into my short step at some point. I'm in Cedar Park and would love to check out your truck sometime.

My wife's first teaching job was out in Taylor so we used to be there a bunch. You do and car events?

Re: Finally found my Unicorn

So Im getting close to completion. Here's a some pics over the last few weeks.
I shaved the factory heater box and used it to hide the bulkhead plate from Vintage Air.
I got the custom driveshaft although the factory one was correct length. I also added a posi unit to the factory 3:73's.
Ive found my way to mil-spec connectors and I can't go back. I cut the gauge connector off and went the same on them.
I should be able to fire the truck off by the weekend, then I'll build the exhaust next week and button up little things.

I'm not sure exactly what you did there, but I like the clean look of how all four lines go into the heater box!

Re: Finally found my Unicorn

Super nice looking. That's a first for me with all four lines going into the factory piece like that.

I sort of like the look of a metal bulkhead on metal firewall when done right with all the fittings rigidly connected. But... what you've done is totally unique and all your own.

Well done Sir.

Wow. Fantastic looking rig! I sure like the look of lower molding only trucks. Your attention to detail is very evident.

Thanks. The metal bulkhead is still there behind the factory piece. I just didn't want the smoothed look on this truck, didn't think it fit.

Re: Finally found my Unicorn

Exhaust got fabbed up last night. It will get welded up and should be on the truck by the weekend. I wanted to keep the truck as quiet as possible so I went with 2.5" and some MF chambered mufflers. Im not concerned with how much power it makes just that I can drive it and talk to the passenger.

Re: Finally found my Unicorn

Nicely done , perfect choice of transmissions , after messing with 2004r's and 4l60's/700r4 , I'll never do one of those again , th350 th400 , or 4l80 is the way to go
