Re: Dad's 1979 GMC Heavy Half Transformation

Wireing in the cab is all cleaned up, and re-wraped in new harness tape, and installed in its correct locations. I also cleaned up and installed the heater/ac ductwork, and installed the new heater controls. Bent up some new brake lines for the rear axle. Orders from summit racing, and rock auto will be coming in the next few days, then I'll have all the goodies I need to get this old girl moving around under it's own power! We are having a stretch of super hot, and humid weather, that's putting a damper on the paint and body work part of the project, but it's nice to get a bunch of the little time consuming stuff out of the way.

Re: Dad's 1979 GMC Heavy Half Transformation

I've been plugging away in the engine bay, carb is rebuilt, wireing is all ran, ac is all hooked up. I'm working on swapping out the transmission now, after that it will be time to break in the cam! We are getting pretty close to this old girl moving around under it's own power...

Very nice job Jayson and Mike! Where did you find/buy the new "info stigs" in the engine bay?

Re: Dad's 1979 GMC Heavy Half Transformation

In early June I dropped of some stainless to a gentlemen in Davenport, Iowa to remove all the dings and get polished up. I picked it up today on my way back through davenport on the way home. I won't unwrap the rest of the trim until I get it to Jayson on Sunday night. Dismiss the finger prints....the guy did an awesome job on the piece I opened!! Thanks Mike

2. After (GMC Grille Trim)
3. The rest of the trim remain sealed!

After cleaning up the mess we made over the weekend and taking a ride, we test fit the bed, then put the bed on the dolly; can't wait to see the work Jayson will perform on the bed. Thanks Mike
