Thanks! No it was in good enough shape to just hit it with some 80 grit and glue the new cover over it.

Re: 12v '78 crew cab

Progress on the frame. I made a round tube front crossmember too that I’ll make some dimple died gussets for. Almost ready to mock up the Cummins and make some mounts.

Thanks! Anything that was bolted inside the frame can either be accessed through the holes or there is a nut welded on the inside so it can still be taken apart if necessary.

Thanks. Ya, there were a bunch of mice in there when I got it, really did a number. Fairly easy to fix though.

Re: 12v '78 crew cab

Don't know if you're wanting to convert to 4wd but I found some guys that are making the conversion kit while researching this online for another fireman buddy of mine that's been wanting to do his crew. Cut Brothers is their name on YouTube, their website is under Cut Bros. I haven't found anyone running their conversion kit yet though.

Keeping it 2wd. Going to bag it in the future. I have a k10 that will be my next project.

Re: 12v '78 crew cab

Just lots of bodywork going on lately. The end is in sight. Hopefully getting some color on next weekend. Also if anyone has or knows where I could find a diesel grill badge I’ve been looking for one with no luck.

What mounts do you plan on using for the 12V? Not many threads on a 2wd conversion.

That's cool. I like to fab stuff too. Take lots of pictures, this is one of my "someday" projects to do a 12v swap in a square body crew cab 2wd.

Re: 12v '78 crew cab

Did they offer a diesel emblem on these in the grill? I have a 6.2 hood emblem but haven't seen any in the grill.
