The original powering steering in this 1974 k5 2wd is super sensitive. Probably lowering it doesn't help much either but my question is how would I be able to get more of a road feel? I heard something about steering stabilizers but sounds like that only works for more of a bump steer.

You have to have the box, and pump rebuilt. I did this on my K20, and then I have great road feel with the factory ratio.

While at it you can have your box made into a faster ratio.

On an after market solution you can buy a matching paid new from AGR.

Lower the pump pressure or change the torsion bar in the steering box helps get rid of the pinky finger steering if that's what you mean.

If you decide to lower the pressure its easy. All you have to do is remove the plus behind the pump where the high pressure line comes in. You can shorten the spring or get the shim kit from someone like summit. Both ways will lower the pressure. If you get the kit you can add washers to give it a try. If it is not enough you can add some more.
