has anybody used blazer back seat for second row seat?

I have looked at the seats and the blazer seat seems to be the same width with different mounting brackets. Couldn't I take the mounting brackets off a full sized second row seat and put them on the blazer seat and then install it as a second row short seat?
I have not tried it yet but it looks like it could work. Anybody here tried it yet?

Should be able to. Same basic seat other than the brackets and the width.

Re: has anybody used blazer back seat for second row seat?

there are 2 versions of 2nd row seats. one is approx. 60" wide which would be considered the full width one and the other one is 48" wide. The 48" is normally used as the rear seat in the Blazer as well as 2nd & 3rd row in the burbs that have 3 row seating. As stated, the second row brackets are different then the 3rd row or Blazer. All of the different brackets interchange with one another as far as I have been able to tell.

Actually, I found out there is a third version of second row seat. They apparently made a full length seat with the armrests like the short seat. I own one and have seen a couple others.

That would be the 60" one that i mentioned. All of the ones I currently have and or have sold have had the tubular arm rests. I have 2 full width ones and probably 5 or 6 of the 48" one and they all have arm rests on them. The couple that I have sold in the past that did not have them had been recovered at some point and I assume they were just not reinstalled.

Re: has anybody used blazer back seat for second row seat?

Mine 72 has the original full length front and second seats and it never came with the arm rests. They were not recovered. Now that I am looking to convert it to a three row seat suburban I am learning a lot about the seats.
Then again, you may be a better expert than I am.
So you got a bunch of seats eh?

Far from expert..... every time you think you have seen it all in pops a new specimen.lol

I do have quite a few but only have 2nd row brackets. I have actually been on the hunt for some 3rd row or Blazer brackets but they have become pretty scarce. I have a set of Blazer brackets but they came out of a beach buggy and the bottoms are totally rotted off. If I can't find some I am going to use the top parts of the brackets to help modify a set of 2nd row brackets. I think you contacted me a while back about one I had and you were trying to meet up at Carlisle, but my schedule did not work out to be able to meet with you.

Yep, that was me. I was in Carlisle and hoped you would come out and sell me a seat. I'm still looking.
If I get an extra set of short brackets, maybe we can work a deal?

Sounds like a plan.
