Re: Project: Long Time Coming

so i traded my old brake parts with a local guy who trades in parts from our trucks and was able to get another set of bed inner fenders and another tailgate. while talking with him i found out that my truck is actually a highlander truck with the top option package. so I'm gonna try to restore her as much as i can but add a few goodies in the performance area.

Re: Project: Long Time Coming

finally back from deployment. now i have a pallet worth of parts to install. going to be a fun time. ordered a Tremec T56 kit from american auto train, 1" bore master cylinder from wilwood, speed demon 650 carb, new steering column from LMC, lokar pedal assembly to go with the transmission, new wiring kit from american auto wire, plus a second set of fenders to tub the bed to fit 18x12's sometime in the near future and a spare tailgate to shave the handle off the tailgate. a few projects lined up for a good time and a whole new truck from a performance and driving stand point.

Re: Project: Long Time Coming

I tried and tried with my e brakes too turned out that my cables had rusted up inside and they wouldn't pull all the way in. They're pretty cheap and worth the insurance.

Re: Project: Long Time Coming

well its been a long time since i posted an update on my progress on the truck. Since i was last on here i have installed an MSD Pro Billet Distributor, Digital 6AL-2 control box, Blaster 2 Coil, Tremec T56 Magnum 6 speed manual Transmission courtesy of Hurst Driveline conversions and San Diego Driveline made my new Driveshaft for that, CPP tilt steering column to replace the factory column. lots of pictures to add and found out a lot about my truck that the previous owner helped to add more to my project with.

I am really surprised the location of the shifter, I would have thought it would have been further back. It makes we think about swaping one in!

Where did you get the brake and clutch pedals? they look really good!

Re: Project: Long Time Coming

So a little warning on the shifter location. We discovered that my motor is mounted in the big block mounting location so it should be 2-3 inches further back. But it will still clear. Plus there are 3 mounting locations for the shifter. I am using the normal location just with the shifter plate rotated 180° which it comes with the ability to do. There is also a mid point it can be mounted to but requires a different shifter plate. Easy swap though. The pedals are lokar direct replacement pedals. I like them alot. They also make a matching throttle pedal that is a factory replacement.

Re: Project: Long Time Coming

i just added a custom license plate bracket. and I'm in the process of making an auto meter gauge cluster. i bought a few products from Delcity.net so that i can have one 12 pin connector for all of the dash electrical. also got some 2 and 3 pin connectors for the side makers and headlights and tail lights. the gages in the pictures are from beelzeburbs build. I'm using the same gauges but with a 200mph speedo. also put in a lokar gas pedal to match the clutch and brake pedal.

Re: Project: Long Time Coming

ok so here is the link for the 12 pin connector. its from a website called del city.net. they have a lot of great stuff to clean up and customize your wiring setup. be warned though to make the 12 pin connector you need both the male and female sides, male and female contacts, plus the wedges for both. so depending on how much you get it can get pricy. but i think its totally worth it in my book. ill make sure to take lots of pictures during the install. they have a few different styles of connectors. i got lucky and was able to borrow a very nice crimper from an electrician buddy to crimp my contacts for the plug.

and thanks farmyard. she has seen better days but the white has grown on me.
