Re: From "C to K" Evolution of my K-20

That seat is my favorite part. Makes the interior pop IMO. Pics don't do it justice. Couple more and I need to get busy!! Getting ready for the 4-H fair. My daughter is showing her hogs this week. Lots to do.. Had to add mud flaps here, don't care for, but nessessary as I live on 4miles of gravel. Rock chip city! Takes forever to get to the highway doing 20mph

Any chance you might know what the color is and company that makes it? I've been looking for a good match myself.

Thanks Shawn. I have been looking through book after book of samples and found close but if there is a better match I'd like to know about it. Your seat looks great!

Shawn that is great looking truck.! Nice and stock looking. Love it.!

And I see you used the turquoise seat with green dash pad. I'm thinking about that too. I would like turquoise seat and dash pad but nobody seems to make the dash pads.

Hi Ken,

My 67 came originally with all the turquoise seats, door panels, visors, etc. but had a dark green dash pad and upset dash, vents, etc. I believe they probably all would have.

Mine has "green vinyl trim" listed on the SPID so I wonder if that means seats too or just the dash pad and the things behind the window winders.? The turquoise seats look pretty cool so I may have to ignore the SPID.

Mine also has green vinyl trim listed and the only thing I would call green is the dash. Everything else, seat, door panels, visors, seatbelts are turquoise. Then again, the paint color is called light green but everyone says its turquoise too.

Awesome.! That's what I will do then. My visor (single) and seat belts are turquoise. I also like the painted glove box but that's not a 67 thing so I won't do that.

Re: From "C to K" Evolution of my K-20

I believe that paint color your talking about is the 503 light green. Same as my steer wheel and column. They dont reproduce the seat design for 67-68 that i know of. Had a local guy do mine.
As far as the dash pad, you can replicate or create almost any color. I ordered a light grey pad and painted it. It came in an oily wrapper, so scrub the sh t out of it w/ soap n water, degreaser, then use a primer MADE for vinyl. Have an Oreillys or local auto place mix paint in a rattle can by paint code or match.
I had them match my door panels and just flatten it a little for my pad. Real close to factory..

Hey Shawn thanks for that. and sorry for us hijacking your thread but your truck inspired us.!

So vinyl primer and regular paint (flattened).? I'm actually getting a little 503 made next week for some touch-ups so I will talk to the guy about paint for the pad too (although it might be a while because the pad changeover looks like a bit of work).

Re: From "C to K" Evolution of my K-20

These reels are a tribute to my grandpa. The red one is a Abu Garcia, chrome one an old phlueger. These were his as long back as i can remember. Him and i spent alot of time together in his 67 along the Des Moines river north of Humbolt. Figured a 30-30 in the back window would be a good way to constantly get pulled over..

Getting some light use.. Feed and straw for the animals getting ready for winter. A little dusty from the gravel travel.

Took it to the covered bridge festival (Clint eastwood bridges of Madison county) in October. Big turn out. Did well, unexpectedly brought home this. They took pics coming and going.
