what is the right roch. carb for my 79 sub?

Hello,

i have a special question regarding my
R4-M4MC Quadrajet Qjet Carburator.
It has the number: 17059520 / 1449 CCP.

I am looking for an information (web)site
where I could figure out if it is the original installed
carburator in my 79 Suburban.

Why?
The problem is, that I am missing tons of parts,
i.e. all parts of the choke system are gone
and lots of vacuum slots are very bad (closed).

I bought the car 15 month ago ...
didnt take a look under the air filter ^^

right now, i bought a used carb and rebuild some parts.
but - before I swap to a newer modell or something -
i would know, if the 4bbl is the right one ... original installed.

Best, Stef

I have a Quadrajet off a 79 350 Blazer. Where is the part number located on the carb? I can post what I have - they *should* be the same.

Paintinx - that carb #17059520 checks out as the correct carb for a 1978 or 1979 truck/Blazer/Suburban with a 454. An excellent resource for learning more about Quadrajets is Cliff's High Performance at https://cliffshighperformance.com/. If you are at all inclined to rebuild the carb yourself, buy one of his kits and get a copy of his book. It will make you an instant expert on an excellent carburetor. Be sure to check out his forums also as it is a wealth of information.

Hej Silverminer, Thx a LOT for your answer.

Indeed, I am planing to rebuild the carb: I miss ALL parts of the choke system. It is gone since I bought the Sub.

The link is very helpful, i OWN the book ...

Actually I was thinking about swapping to edelbrock or (more expensive)
to EFI tec, but I love the carb tec. and have (and want) to learn it.

sry for my poor english, stef
