Drug truck! When I worked as a mechanic, I owed a bunch of money to the Snap-On guy. We could buy tools with a down payment, and let it float. By the time I found a job at another shop (the current boss was giving my labor away, and I was getting 50%) I owed the guy $300, in 1977. Had a tough time paying that off, but I did.

I drove my 55 up to Springfield, MO to a cruise in at Steak and Shake. The picture was taken at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds.

Re: Had A Good Time Last Weekend

I had a whole lotta fun this afternoon. I dug this ole thing out and took it for a drive through the country.

When I built this, I had a wrecked SS 396 out back and I used most of the suspension in this car. It was bolt in and heavier than stock.

Nice Chevelle! I had a '64 Malibu SS and a '65 Malibu. Both were some fun. I wouldn't mind having either one back, but they were totaled by the people they ended up with.

Re: Had A Good Time Last Weekend

Right up the road a piece. Car looks great. Must have been a nice night for the ride home... Perfect.

We had a week of rain that ended last Saturday. So, last weekend wasn't much other than work. I went up to fellow member (Eric) Bignbad's place in Highspire, PA to put the steel roof on his pole construction shop he built. No pictures, but just the walls left to do now.

My grandson has a birthday party today. So the weekend evolves around that so far.

Re: Had A Good Time Last Weekend

Having crossed the CT river just about every day of my adult life, thought it would be fun to go to its' source, the Fourth Ct Lake (actually no more than a glorified marsh) at the Canadian boarder. The trail actually crosses the boarder several times. We then ventured into Maine, through the Dixville Notch, saw some wildlife along the way, then proceeded to go to the "Countries" of Maine. With the exception of China, we drove through all of them (we'd been through China before). Most are just small villages, but each are charming in their own way

Sounds like a great weekend. Like something I'd like to do. I have been into checking river sources, confluences, high points, divides, following watershed, etc lately

While on our jaunt through N.H./Maine, we passed a speed trap that may have been stationed just a little too long (Sweden, Maine)

Check this one out. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mammoth_Spring

It is quite a site to behold. The Spring River is beautiful, and cold.

Re: Had A Good Time Last Weekend

That is really something. Arkansas has the big springs for sure.

We have a town west of here (Keedysville) that has a spring head that is water from an aquifer under Canada. Nothing like Mammoth Spring, but it pumps water out at a huge rate. It makes an instant creek, but the area is surfaces is a big marsh. I don't think the spring is that deep from the surface. I wish I knew water the flow rate was. My buddy works for the water dept of the neighboring, and much bigger, town (Boonesboro). he has all the facts. The town towns are partnered in their water and sewer depts. Boonesboro pulls water from this spring and Keedysville helps with Boonesboro's water maintenance. Boonesboro takes care of Keedysville's sewer system.
