Found a 68 all original short bed

I hope I am not breaking any rules here with the "what's it worth" rule but I found a 68 shortbed locally in a shed and they want $3500 for it. All original light green color with a 307 and powerglide trans, wood bed and it runs. They say the only rust is in the passenger inner fender well.
It has a emblem on the door, not sure what it says maybe custom and it has trim along the bottom of the sides
From some pics that I can't get to download here it is in fair original condition
I am about done with my 69 so moving on to something new.
$3500 ? Would you?

Re: Found a 68 all original short bed

pics would be great. but the all original "307" would make me question it. i not 100% sure but i think the 307 wasent factory installed until 69. it replaced the 327. if i am wrong on this my bad. sorry. best of luck

Re: Found a 68 all original short bed

307 is good...

Since 1968 they replaced the 283.

And yeah, I might shell out $3500...

You know it's cold in canada when you go to WV for a "winter break"!

Sounds decent but only if it doesn't have rust issues... worn paint is fine, cooler even...

68's had 307,327 or 396 V-8's plus inline 6's. The tag on the door is Custom or CST.. sounds like it might have a few options on it.

Re: Found a 68 all original short bed

Sorry but I still cannot get the pics to download because they are some strange doc.x format that I had to go to Microsoft and download Word2007 to get them to open. Anyway it is the "little old lady" story but in this case it was Grandpa's truck who only drove it occasionally, always parked it in the shed and left it to his grandson and now he wants to unload it cause it's ugly and green and old. It has under 100,000 miles on it. He did say there was a quarter size rust spot in the rear corner and a big spot in the passenger inner fender. Other than that just faded and scratched paint and the wooden bed is original but in good shape "just needs painted" says the grandson.
It does have an air conditioner unit mounted under the dash, never seen that before on these trucks, saw one in a 66 Mustang?
Going to look at it Saturday with cash in hand.

Doesn't matter about pics... If you've seen the truck and like it and the price is right, buy it.

Too late dude! I found that truck. Just bought it... I offered him $2,500 cash and he took it. Drives like new! Sorry, but I just couldn't let it get away. Thanks for telling us about it though. Maybe you will find something else.
