Re: Rebuild of my K-10

well I've been filling my gas tank through the wheel well all summer because my gas tank is on the wrong side for the bed so i decided to get creative and graft a gas filler door into my fender. Its out of a 96 chevy pickup. I used the factory filler neck and hose along with a piece of exhaust tubing i had bent to get it working.

Nice work bud. Looks good. What are your plans? Just building it as a daily driver? Show truck? Trail rig?

Re: Rebuild of my K-10

for now its just a toy. I drive it occasionally to work, around town, and to haul my 4 wheeler. Then sometimes on the weekends i take it out wheeling. I'm gonna have to drive it this coming winter because my other vehicles are to nice to take out in the snow and salt.

Re: Rebuild of my K-10

No real progress lately. I took a nice chunk out of the yoke on my transfer case right after christmas when my universal joint broke so the truck was down for about a month while i tried to find a used yoke for it. It is fixed now though and i've been driving it daily in all the snow we've been getting. here is a pic i took at my girlfriends. I didnt want to block the driveway so i made my own parking spot in the snow.

Re: Rebuild of my K-10

thanks. I'm wanting to get back to work on the truck this summer. I'm gonna try to find a door and a set of fenders this weekend at a local swap meet. Then i'm going to order rockers and cab corners at work.

Re: Rebuild of my K-10

Sorry i dont have the steps anymore. I sold all of my unused parts from both trucks to my buddy last summer because he wanted the axles for a geo tracker he was building for mud bogging and he gave up on the project and scrapped it all

Re: Rebuild of my K-10

I know I'm bringing back a dead thread but this truck is sweet. Any insight on how those 36s cleared that lift? Also what your fender measurements with that lift are. I have an unknown lift on my truck and didn't know how to tell what size it is

Re: Rebuild of my K-10

Been a long time since i have posted about this truck. Over the past few years i swapped in a bench seat, rust free fleetside bed from a truck that was on fire, and i put my 15x10 slots on it. It has just been a winter/work truck. I have a family now so the truck doesnt have enough room for all of us. But thanks to a new addition to my fleet thats about to change.

Re: Rebuild of my K-10

I got a 1988 2wd suburban silverado with a perfect original body. The plans are to swap the entire drivetrain from the truck into the suburban.
