Did I need this one. No. Did I want it. Yes

WE bought this awhile back. I had been trying to buy it for a while, but the guys dad bought it new in Arizona, and yada yada yada.

I thought I paid too much but the with the prices they have been bring lately, maybe not.

It has been sitting outside all it's life. The Arizona sun baked the interior, and even though the guy here has a couple hundred thousand feet of warehouse space, he parked it outside. It has an ouchy on the left quarter from an employee accident (his employee).

I finally found an original paint bedside on a trailer, and we pulled it in this week to clean it up some. The tailgate is almost perfect. We pulled it to change the bedside. The original wheel covers are laying in the bed. I put the rallys on it to move it around.

Oh yeah. The truck has 52,000 miles.

Dang Larry. Look at you. You've been shopping this year. So are you leaving it in the ruff or going to polish it up a lil bit?

The real question is, how long did it take me to come up to his price. He would not negotiate.

I really hadn't looked at them until this afternoon. These were on it. Since there is no mention of hubcaps/wheel covers on the SPID, Enlighten me.

It also doesn't have a chrome front bumper.

The CC's, inner rockers and cab braces are solid.

The steering wheel and dash pad look like something from a science fiction movie.

White dog dish hub caps would have been standard on that truck. Also the white bumper was still standard on a Custom deluxe

Those look like wheel covers off a Biscayne or Impala.

Re: Did I need this one. No. Did I want it. Yes

I started searching the WWW to identify the Wheel covers, and then it occurred to me, it's obvious they are not truck wheel covers, so what difference does it make.

Re: Did I need this one. No. Did I want it. Yes

Those wheel cover came on Vans and maybe some trucks in the late '70s. I have a set of GMC covers like that. I wondered if it had Highlander covers. Nothing on the SPID about any of that, but as Joe says, the chrome bumper would have been an option not listed. I see the mirrors have been changed and what it had is what Highlanders came with. Just curious what you had there. Probably just a touch of personalization over the years. The Highlander wheel covers were available through the accessories catalog I believe.
