Started the swap Friday!!

Well, I started pulling the front clip off my truck friday. Saturday, I had the 250 out. Today, We got the LT-1 in. Now the real fun begins.. We have to get it running! We got a lot done this weekend. It's been great. Here are some pics.. I haven't taken any of it with the lt1 in, but I will in the morning.

here is the primed firewall. My dad and I sprayed some black acrylic we had in the garage on it. It's not a show finish, but it's quite an improvement.

Yea, I started school about 3 weeks ago.. It hasn't been so bad, but we've only taken 2 tests. My friends from a school will be going to prototype in July. I won't until October. That's not too far away though!

I don't know if I could wire it up myself.. The wiring harness is so big it's scary. Fortunately, my dad will be helping me a lot. He's already put an LT-1 in a 39 ford for a friend of his. Yes, it's a very tight fit!

LT1

When you get it running I would appreciate it if you could give me some photos with close ups. I have a LT1 in the new 67 project I have and don't have a clue as to what goes where. The computer is not hooked up at all and some of the lines are not hooked up either. Vacuum lines that is. They are made of polished tubing. This was a project started by my brother that was never finished. By the way I still wish I lived down there in stead of here in Virginia. Used to live in the College Park Subdivision between North Charleston and Summerville. Wootdog

Both of these came from Z28 camaros. The 39 ford has a 95 and my truck has a 94. My dad is a car dealer (sortof), so he can buy them at salvage auctions. You'd be suprised by what some insurance companies will total! There was very little damage to the 94 I got..

No joke! That's cool that you can snag wrecked cars cheap like that. On the install of the LT1 in the ford, did your dad pick up a universal type LT1 harness, or just use the harness and computer from the camaro? I've heard that there are companies out there that sell computers and wiring harnesses for putting TPI systems into any car or truck.

He used the stock harness for both setups. I've seen the painless kit, but for the money, I'd rather just keep the original harness.
