Brake line question - need some input

First I searched & read quite a few threads on this but none addressed my specific question, so here goes:

Working on a 65 c10 & in the process of installing disc brakes. PO did very little right on this truck. He did replace the brakes & lines but not sure he used the correct size for the rear line.

I have read several posts that say 3/16" for front lines, and 1/4" for rear line up to the T fitting. Have also read that some noted pre 66 trucks had 3/16" for the long rear line.

So 1st question is the existing rear 3/16" ok to use? 2nd question deals with the disc brake kit I'm installing. It came with braided steel front hose lines that take a 1/4" line connection. Should I use 1/4" lines in the front or get an adapter for the hoses to run front 3/16" lines?

Any info or suggestions is much appreciated. Thanks guys.

Re: Brake line question - need some input

Scott i have 1/4" lines to all my brakes on my 66. Every thing in the front is 73 to 87. Works fine. I used a line from the rear to the frame that was also 1/4 on the frame end and it is 3/16 to the rear wheel cylinders.

Re: Brake line question - need some input

I Just made new stainless lines for my truck last weekend. I have 4 wheel disk brakes and I used 3/16" line from master cylinder out to all 4 brakes. I would keep everything 3/16" same as the rear already is. There is a lot of info on the internet from pretty smart people that know hydraulic's and Pascal's Principle, line sizes and so forth.
