the only one i would waste time on is my SFA s10 build, always cool to look back at it or to randomly add stuff as its pretty much finished.

whats really going to suck is the tech threads, people who made great posts with tons of pictures showing everything from engine over hauling to how to change a light bulb are going to be pictureless

I don't know if it's true or not, but I was just reading on another forum where someone said that Photobucket got hacked. Seems like it might be a plausible explanation for what seems like a rather poor policy change on their part.

Re: if you use photobucket for image hosting you MUST READ THIS

put this at the front of your link

You can get the full size image like I posted by opening your picture full size, right click, go to properties. copy paste that link and put these brackets like I showed.

Or go to the box to the right of your image and pick the one that says medium image. You can see it has the brackets on it, copy paste that..

they did not get hacked. I put the TOS in my first post. The NEW TOS that have been in effect for a week clearly states no 3rd party hosting of images.

"got hacked" is an uninformed way to describe exactly what I said would happen, en masse loss of images on websites and forums.

Re: if you use photobucket for image hosting you MUST READ THIS

Ok Ill try it again. I clicked on your first link. It opens to the Culligan picture. In the box next to it one of the options is Medium Image. If you click on the box you will highlight it. Next copy and paste it to your dialog box you are working in. When I do this I have 67-72chevytrucks open in two windows so Im not accidentally closing and losing my copy past stuff. So this is the image I get when I copy paste ...

Re: if you use photobucket for image hosting you MUST READ THIS

Or the other way is I clicked on your link. Clicked below the picture ... view larger image. When that opened up I right clicked on the larger picture, went down to the bottom and clicked properties. I hightlighted the Address(URL) and copy pasted that in my dialog box and put the at the end of it and got this ...

Re: if you use photobucket for image hosting you MUST READ THIS

Is there a way to go back and edit older posts and attach pictures directly and get rid of my photobucket links. I know the edit option is available for a short time, but in a case like this where it has been several months what options are there?

on this forum the edit button is always available, even years later I think.

other forums lock your posts after 10 minutes!

Re: if you use photobucket for image hosting you MUST READ THIS

Edit time for anyone to add pictures is 30 minutes, I think. I am so made at P-bucket for doing this. It feels like stealing. They gave me a service for 13 years that I used here so much it isn't funny and now our website is all screwed up, with diluted threads. So many cool picture threads with their dumbass boxes now.

It's plain to see PHOTOBUCKET HAS SCREWED UP THE INTERNET, single handed. Thanks a lot. I wonder how long till we hear P-bucket is dead. They already are in my world. I am going to move every picture I have there before those are gone. Photobucket was what this site was recommending back when I signed up and never posted a picture before.

Re: if you use photobucket for image hosting you MUST READ THIS

To me this is just as damaging as a ransomware virus. They are holding our pics hostage! We are the ones that lose here.

I have relied on this forum for all the great help and information it has provided.

Someone should set up a poll to see what people are doing with this issue.

I hope they will give everyone here a chance to edit old posts for a short time to fix this issue. This forum is such a help to so many but with dead pictures it won't be as good.

I've been using Picturetrail for at least 15 years. No issues at all that I'm aware of. Then again, I doubt if I've uploaded more than 150 photos.

Ahhh! My build thread has been decimated.... Thankfully I switched to flickr a few months ago so still have the latest updates intact, but who's to say they won't eventually follow suit.

Re: if you use photobucket for image hosting you MUST READ THIS

I've always used this site to upload my photos, so unless this place goes away, my how to and build threads are safe. I have like 20 pics in a photobucket account I don't even remember my user login name to.

I agree it has to be some kind of desperate cash grab, I mean, how to you go from free to $400 per year???

If FB ever goes away I'm in trouble, I use it as a back up to organize and display my photos. I probably have several thousand on there.
