'67 292CID 6 cylinder
Good morning all; I tried started my P-30 Stepvan this morning. It seems as though it was flooded. It finally started with a real rough idle, dying without foot on pedal. I looked down and noticed oil and gas coming between head and block. I have general knowledge. I just want to narrow down items when going to the parts house...Blown head gasket??? Simple fix???

Sounds like it,,, check oil and coolant , see what they look like ...

oil is black. coolant is green. I suspected a loss of compression. I originally thought I simply had a lot of water in gas tank. I wants to start, getting fuel scenario. Then, almost as soon as it started, I looked down saw the oil coming out between head and block. No idle when foot off of pedal.

Try a compression check.

Show a picture of your engine and where you think the oil is coming from , Is it a slow leak or shooting out ? Never seen oil leaking out from a blown head gasket . Pull the plugs and see what your working with .

Oil feeds through the push rods to the top end, so you should not be seeing oil coming out between the block and head. Well, if something catastrophic happened, you could. Pics, as requested previously, will help.

Good morning all;
I went out there this morning to look at it. It is gasoline that is coming out. Just a black residue, making it look like oil. I am going to post pictures, in a few. |
