Rear Axle Experts ?
I took the cover off my spare 1/2 ton rear 12 bolt axle as a practice run for my axle seal project. These numbers were stamped in the ring gear 3817778 11:41 GM 12-71-2 What do they mean and what ratio is this axle ?I would assume that 12-71-2 is the date code ?

that part # corresponds to 3:73 ratio
