Did you buy the "custom" trailing arms or build them yourself. If you built them I would sure love to see a "how to".

Well its Sunday and my eyes opened at 6:30 a.m. Somebody nudged me ( Mr Samson the avatar pic) to get out in the shop and start fitting the inner fenders in the openings. As I have visualized a final aired out stance of 5" front and 6" rear body to ground clearence my reality check made me wake up to the fact that tire size, offset, top of tire clearence without scrub and stance at ride heigth seem to all be in the same family. I have seen so many cutout fenders and no inner fenders that I decided to do the best of both worlds. In keeping pace with a even blend of stock theme and stylish modifications this is my conception of the factory inner fender modified to allow 20" rims tucked up and away still keeping a 4" deep dish front wheel without tucking the wheel deep inside the wheel opening. Hope you like the new invisible rim they are not available for sale yet. So I moved the stock inner fender up about an inch and out towards the inside of the fender to allow the wheel and tire to flush better. This turned out to be quite simple. Instead of the inner fender fastening to the downside of the fender lip it know goes over the back side. I will post more pics later. Thanks for checking out the progress.

Your truck is coming along great. I really like the powdercoat finish you went with. I did just plain jane gloss black on mine. I couldn't help but notice your shop floor. What kind of finish do the floors have? Is it stain resistant?

It,s been a while but here is a update on the latest. I purchased a cowl hood and it did't fit for sh

t so I had to

the crap out of it. Well actually I cut it a little to fix the poor alignment. Any way once that was taken care of and I was satisfied that it was a keeper I moved on to something even worse. Fitting some custom hood hinges. As the discalimer always says DONT TRY THIS AT HOME. I drove myself

getting this one right. After three days lots of research on angulation and load formula and a couple three trips to the autoparts store for gas struts the challenge became a completed project. Nice looking hinges in a stock location on the hood with just the right lift and closing force with proper hood fitment and rear clearence. Whew thats a mouthfull and I wish it was that easy. NOT!!!!!!!. Anyways the brackets are mockup patterns for the ones that are being machined. If you are interested in knowing the hinges are from Sachse Rod Shop (large size) and the gas struts are Mighty Lift part # 95052 if you would like the ball end type then get part # 95191 but they are more expensive. Hope you enjoy the show I will be back later with the final finished pictures.
