Spindle and flip kit

I did some searching around on the forum but did not find what I'm looking for; has anyone done 2.5 drop spindles and flip kit with no changes to front coils? Was it level or too low in the rear? Thanks

I believe most 2WD trucks (stock) sit about 2" higher in the rear. My estimate, and I aint too bright, it'll sit down -2.5" in the front and you'll loose -6" in the back. So, that's what...the back end sitting 1.5" lower than the front?????? MMMMMMM?

2/4 drop will make it sit level also a 3/5 4/6 and 5/7 so yea the rear will sit lower with a flip kit an jus springs in the front....also don't cut your stock springs....buy some big block springs an cut those

Cut your stock springs. You already own them free and clear. Maybe, if you have a complaint about the ride, consider buying the big block springs and cutting them. I'm betting you won't have any complaint about the ride that cut stockers give you though.

Thanks for all of the replies. I'm going to flip the rear today and see how it looks. 2.5 cpp drop spinles up front, i think I forgot that part. Also rear tires are 275/60r15. 255/60r15 up front.

I'm curious what the average height loss would be by snipping stock small block coil springs. I am finishing up my rear suspension swap and now have to get the front to match.

What about shocks? at what point would lowering shocks need to be purchases?

Typically one coil is 2"

Anything beyond 2" of spring drop will prob need adjustments to the shock travel (different shocks or changing the mounting points for corrected length). This is a subjective issue. One guy might notice while another doesn't (or doesn't care).

3" lower in front and 6" in rear makes for a goofy looking truck. Drop coils are cheap.
I have 3" spindles and 2" springs on my 78 with oem shocks, rides fine. My 79 lowered the same needed drop shocks. Guess it was the difference in spring manufacturers.
