TOPLESS for the first time..

Took the top off today with the help of a buddy. I've got a double wall and this sucker is pretty heavy, and awkward to remove to say the least! October might be the best weather month in Texas, I'm a little ticked I waited until now to take her off! I also got rid of the 18" chrome rims the PO had and got some 15" ralleys off of a 86 Suburban with 33" BFG ATs plus some center caps and beauty rings from LMC..like the look so much better.

Re: TOPLESS for the first time..

Very nice truck. I run topless in my Blazer from the first moment the sun melts the snow until I just can't stand the cold anymore. Unfortunately, I think that's getting really close.

By the way, I've got the same tires and rims and I love them. I eventually plan to put on a two-tone paint job like yours too, except yellow and white. Is your molding above the white paint a factory original?

Re: TOPLESS for the first time..

thanks Truckster! I've got no AC currently, PO took some key parts with him for some reason??? The heat does work however, and since we don't experience a 'real' winter here in North Texas I think I can probably get away with having the top off year round..although 100+ days from July-September might be a bit much for me to take!
As for the molding, I'm not 100% sure. It is 'factory molding' as near as I can tell, but I do not know if she rolled off the assembly line with the molding or if it was added later. Both top and bottom molding are held in place, in certain areas, with screws...so although I'd actually prefer no molding on her I don't know if I want to mess with repairing the holes, so the molding will likely stay.
Re the wheels..paid a guy $120 for the set..funny that I like these so much more than the $1000 chrome wheels the PO had on!

Re: TOPLESS for the first time..

That is a good looking Blazer!

As far as I know, the Blazers never came from the factory with the top spear trim like on the trucks. The bottom trim came with the CST Blazers though.
I know that the truck trim can be cut down, and that Mar-K Truck Parts in OKC makes the correct length trim for the Blazer's now.

I like the look with the two tone and top trim also.

Nice looking Blazer! Mine is also a two-tone with Red/Tan just like yours. Except up here in Montana the top isn't off much unfortunately.

Great looking Blazer. A soft top would help to keep you from baking in the summer and save your upholstery.

I plan on running same rim and tire size, but different brand.

What size lift do you have?

Correct, although the look is great. I plan to 2 tone mine the same way using the factory upper truck moldings. It's been done quite a bit that I've seen over the last several years.

thanks! I've never been to Montana but I'd guess the spring ans summer months would be perfect for going topless, no? Ive seen some guys here that have rigged up a hoist system for little $$ that allows a quick one person removal/install of the top...this is on my list of projects as it won't be long until the wife and neighbors complain bout the top sitting in the side yard!

2" blocks. I searched for awhile for the original 'steelys' for her but couldn't find any..I'll keep searching but in the meantime I do like the ralleys.

Totally agree, just haven't found one I love yet. What I really want is just a safari top...am going to check some boat shops around and see about getting one made..can't be that difficult!? Guess I'd need a roll bar in the back so the kids in the back seat can get some shade also.

I like it! I also like the wheels and no top! Had mine out today, I am never going to put the top back on!
