Re: rear tires

You need to provide more info, like the full tire size, and wheel backspacing. If you're asking if a 31" tall tire will fit, then the answer is yes, but it will depend on placement and suspension height.

Re: rear tires

So 31" tall X 15" wide tires? When I measured my fleetside, with wider tubs, I had about 15" of total space (front and backspace) to fit something. 9.5" of that was backspace available, and 5.5" of that was frontspace.

When you're going that big I think, unfortunately, you're going to need to measure it out yourself because you're pushing right up against the limits, and I'd be really reticent to buy anything without measuring it out.

I know a 15" wide would be pushing it close on my setup, and again, I have wider tubs. Do you have stock tubs on yours?

Re: rear tires

i have stock tubs for now...i work in alaska up on a fishing boat so thiis is when i get all my ideas then i go home and do them haha ive already got an extra set of tubs sitting in my garage im going to cut and weld to mine to get them wide enough. i thought about buying some of the aftermarket wider tubs but i think i can widen these all the way to the frame and be more then good.

Re: rear tires

i want to run 255/40/20 in front so im kind of leaning towards a rear tire that is 29x15r20. since 255/40/20 is 28" i think 31 might look too tall on back and 29" will be about perfect?

Re: rear tires

If the frame becomes your inner barrier then you should be able to fit 15" wide okay, but again, measure first .

Just keep in mind that this will limit future suspension changes, as you'll need to run anything you do inboard of the frame. Most aftermarket setups run outboard (though I think Ridetech is inboard). May not be a concern for you, but just a heads up.

As far as what backspacing to run, you'll have to measure from your wheel mounting surface on the rotor to the outer most point a wheel will fit, which for me I chose to use the inside lip of the rear fender, a few inches up. So let's say for you that's also 5.5", and you want to run a 14" wheel. Remember, wheel measurements are also from inner lip to inner lip, so a 14" wheel is actually going to be 15" wide.

So 15" - 5.5" = 9.5", meaning you'd want a 9.5" backspacing on that wheel to be inside the wheel well.

Re: rear tires

well i think i have decided on the 31x18r20 because it has a 34mm side wall versus a 30mm side wall on the 29x15r20..now to get them to fit under there without getting too crazy.
