1969 C10 Duramax 8.81 @ 158

Just doing a little update on the truck. I built a new motor last winter and add three S475 turbos to my Duramax Diesel powered 69 C10. I was having problems all year with head gaskets. At the beginning of the year we were running 135 psi of boost and I could not keep a head gasket from blowing. Within the last month we put waste gates on the system and limit the boost too 100 - 105 psi and changed to a different head gasket. I went to the NHRDA world finals in Texas with the truck and ended up winning the World finals and setting a new world record in the pro-street class with a 8.810 @ 158 and backed it up with a 8.870 @ 157. I still have A/C on the truck and drive it about 1500 miles a year.

I need to thank

My Wife and Kids
My Parents for all the help
Danville Performance for the great tuning and all the help
HSP Diesel for all the fab work on the triple turbo kit
Wagler Competition for the cylinder heads
Bullseye Power for the turbo's
Neal Chance Racing Converters for the converter to hold all the torque

That's awesome. I love me some fast trucks. Im a gas engine guy but I definitely have a soft spot for fast diesels.

Re: 1969 C10 Duramax 8.81 @ 158

Thanks guys!!!

Vincent, everything has been holding up well. I need to get my 5-point harness re-cert. Do you know if you send them back to the manufacture to do that?

Were going out to my home town track this Saturday (Byron Dragway) they are having a diesel day. We're going to turn it up a little more and see how close to an 8.5 we can get.

Re: 1969 C10 Duramax 8.81 @ 158

You can either send them directly to DJ Safety, or to me. If you send them to me, I can save you a little money.

Re: 1969 C10 Duramax 8.81 @ 158

Since Brett set the world record and is pushing his truck a lot quicker and faster, here's the new SFI-15 suit I did for him as part of safety equipment sponsorship - also included new helmet, gloves, shoes, HANS device - to help keep Brett safe and secure as he assaults the diesel drag season:

Re: 1969 C10 Duramax 8.81 @ 158

Sorry guys, I have not been on here in some time. Vincent (vin63) got me hooked up with all DJ Safety gear. I got the driving suit, helmet, gloves, shoes, window net, and 5 point harnesses for me and the passenger. The truck also has a DJ Safety parachute from DJ that Vincent help DJ design for the weight of my truck. Vincent is a great guy to work with and made the process getting all the safety gear just right simple. Thank you Vincent (vin63) Mayeda Motorsports!!

Re: 1969 C10 Duramax 8.81 @ 158

A couple weeks ago I took the truck out for testing and ran a 8.62 @ 161. I got to pull my parachute for the first time and it worked great!

Here's my run. Skip to the 1.20 mark in the video so you don't have to listen to me talk. I hate talking in front of the camera.
