My method of hiding engine bay wiring

I wanted to hide as many engine bay wires as I could. As the pictures shows I think I did it. I used gray flex conduit 1" from firewall to core support and 1/2 from firewall to cab support for the rear wiring. In the engine bay picture the charging, starter, cooling and batteries are wired. The gray flex conduit is easy to install I bought it all for aprox $25 from Home depot .

Very Nice! Generally called "seal tight conduit" At the electrical jobs Ive worked for, used alot for outdoor and wet locations its easier then running and bending "EMT" metal electrical conduit ....Nice job and looks like you found another great use for it!

Thanks , the conduit should work good for me because my truck is not going to be a working truck . Its great to find a different material to use on our trucks that is not an over priced hot rod or classic part.

Someone should start a thread on parts that they have used that are non-automotive.

The only other wiring run that I need to do is for the front turn signals. I'm thinking of pulling the wires through the 1" conduit to the core support area and us a contact strip on top of the core support and on the bottom of the hood so when the hood is closed the power transfers through. I've seen them used in door jams.

Has anyone used them ?

I have a buddy that installed them in the door jams. They work good but you gotta keep them clean. If your truck isn't going to see alot of the elements, you should be GTG. With a 454 in the truck, I'd have a hard time leaving her in the garage!

This is mine. I put in an EZ Wiring 21 circuit harness. Since I used a cable operated throttle cable, I used the original hole where the throttle rod came out from the firewall.
I ran the wires under the headers through a copper tube to shield them. I also ran the headlight harness under the fender wells. I used corvette style spark plug wires that run next to the block under the headers also. The battery was relocated under the bed on the passenger side.
Yes there are wires in there somewhere.

I used the stuff on low voltage home wiring all the time and its pretty solid. I'm curious tho, how it holds up to stuff like temperature extremes, elements, chemicals, and vibration.

I like the idea tho, and if it holds up, its a concept worth stealing

So I like it too. Noticed you even used the 'alike' elbows to terminate the ends into/thru sheet metal. NEATO. Makes a fella want to do a little tidying up under his own ride.

love it ! great idea for our trucks ... hey brother listen im looking for a cross flow radiator that mounts by brackets welded to the side of the radiator and yours looks like in the pic that how it mounts. and its a cross flow can you please tell me the part number of that radiator and how much it cost you ? it would be a big help brother ... happy truckin
