That actually happened to me. I went to a bar and there was a smoking hot cocktail waitress. She recognized me. I didn't know who she was...But I sure wanted to.

She told me her name. She said that we went to school together. I took a hard look at her. I did know her. But she didn't look like that in school. Not even close. Talk about the ugly duckling becoming a beauty.

I tried to pick up on her but she gave me the brush off. I guess I should have paid more attention to her in school. Oh well.

I took the plunge and bought this 92 buick. Century wagon. $2,200.00 with 70k miles. Front wheel drive. I don't know why.

I like it. I would have jumped on it too.

My niece had a Century like that but it was a sedan. She was a little rough on that car and it kept running. I wouldn't think that it would go over 100 mph but she managed to get a ticket for going 102 or something like that on Interstate 15. She's 40 now and has calmed down a lot. But she was pretty wild in her younger days.

A good deal on a low mile car you don't see anymore that was not such a bad car to drive. Handy for sure. It's an older car with a lot of life that stands out in it's own way. I'm sure it's nice to ride in. Oh, and like when I bought the '65 Biscayne Wagon for my son (way back then) it's a classic that doesn't have a high value so you can just drive and enjoy without feeling you are ruining a collector car

Bringing this one back up. Here are a couple I've seen around town.
I'm not sure what happened but here is the 2nd photo that never showed up on the first try.

Nice '65. I believe '64 was the first year Vista Cruiser. Cool to see it out and about. I once had a '65 F-85 330/4spd. Here is a non-Vista Cruiser

Re: Pic Thread: Station Wagons

Cool wagon Ramblin' along.

I went in to the hardware store and noticed backing into a space in front of Advance Auto Parts was a white with red 2-tone Greenbriar with Western Bullets on it. As I was leaving, it left, too. It rode behind me all the way home and on past when I pulled in. Never seen it before. Pretty neat!

Re: Pic Thread: Station Wagons

This one caught my attention. It's exactly the same car that I have sans the rims and sidepipes. It gives me ideas. And I could change it back. No spotlights para mi. Ill put those in the Packard.

Here's mine...

Yours looks better left as it is

I'd like to have one of those Greenbriars. If I did, it would have a 100% original look

my neighbor, years ago, had a black Corvair 95 (van) that I wanted to buy. It came from a funeral parlor, used for transport/shuttling purposes. No rust! I wanted to buy it and do a crown mid-engine V8 conversion. That I would have put wide wheels and tires on, vanner style. Can you imaging a potent SBC hidden inside a bread box that would hug the curves?

Funeral Parlor? I bought my hearse from a mortuary. I know it wasn't for hauling meat but that Corvair would make a cool hearse. Can you imagine a hot rod Greenbriar hearse with a small block?

My Caddy has 77K on the speedo. That's a lot of dead people.

No Grateful Dead sticker on the back window? That thing needs a tag that says "Morty"

No deadhead sticker yet. Just the Social Distortion one. That's actually an old photo. The plate now says "IHAUL U' and the SD sticker disintegrated immediately (cheap sticker) It now has one that says "Carpe Mortem'.

Hearse people must love their personalized plates because everything I thought of was already taken.

I had some cars moved to the new place the other day. Two Porsches and two Corvettes and parked them out front. (the garage is still full of boxes) But my painter was laughing. He told me that the minute that the cars showed up so did the neighbors wanting to meet me. I've been there for two months and they never wanted to meet me before.

The next day I had the hearse delivered. Parked right out front.

I wonder if they still want to meet me?

I really do have a lot of fun with that car. The funny thing is that it creeps people out but someone is always trying to buy it off me.

I think that was the first year for Rambler. Cool car. Boxy like an SUV. I wouldn't do it to this one, but a 4wd would be cool
