I do not think you are going to find mudder tires in 22.5 size. If you do, check your wallet because they will be comercial tires with a huge price tag.

Those are super single rims they do not make a mud tire just a drive tire. The price for one tire is 1200.00 plus mounting.

They will not fit they are 10 lug stud pilot wheels. Different stud spacing and mounting type. They are also 50 inch tall tires!!

Why not get the military 10.00r20 tires for your rims. I had them on my 1941 jimmy 6x6 had all the traction you could have.

ok now im lost what ones are 50in tall tires? and Im trying to get rid if these split rims no one around here even knows how to change the death traps? I guess Im going to have to go custom. this is crazy I know it cant be this hard to put a set of non split rims and a set of knobby tires on a napco 4x4 K50 truck.

Do your wheels have an outer locking ring that comes off or do they come apart at center? The ones that come apart at the center are firestone rh5 wheels that are called Widow makers. If they have the outer lock ring there is no reason not to use them. they are safe as long as they are in good condition.

Where did you find the 22.5 wheels? I did a search and can not find any with the 10 on 7.25 bolt pattern that should be on your truck.

Re: 22.5x12.25 or 14.00

Most of the trucks that I looked at of this vintage came with "Budd" style hubs (in GM pattern) especially the lower GVW trucks C40 C50... C60's usually come with Dayton style 20" rims the hubs that look like "stars" . (Be warned that these puck style wheels have a specific removal and installation procedure to prevent serious injury as they can shoot out like a bullet if you don't leave the nuts on when you remove the puck) the tubeless version of these are 22.5" rims and mount modern radial tires. there are versions of the Dayton rims in wide widths.. mostly found on triaxle dump trucks for weight and flotation...

My truck was ordered with much heavier suspension and axles than normal. it has 9000 lb front springs and the same springs as the C60 Dump but no helpers. It came with 9:00-20 rubber originally and I upgraded to 11R22.5 for two reasons:

1) the axle ratio is 7.20:1 and I swapped motors from a 350 chevy that red lines at 4500 RPM to a 8V71 Detroit Diesel that red lines at 2350 RPM. Taller tires improve road speed.

2) I had 8 new 11R22.5 Drives that came off my L9000 donor truck

It also had Dayton hubs on the rear and these funky adapters on the front that adapt Rockwell hubs to Dayton wheels. My buddy who is an old time trucker said that these adapters were quite common on trailers in the 60's and 70's....

Re: 22.5x12.25 or 14.00

What you have is "widow makers". They split in the center. If you look around you can find some 22.5x7.5 tubeless wheels that will fit your axles. 60's and 70's GM heavy duty trucks have this bolt pattern known as a "motor wheel". I work at a tire shop in Tacoma WA and have 3 of the tubeless wheels right now (the 4th was damaged). Don't know of anything wider because the trucks GVW wasn't very high. The tire that would fit this wheel would be a 10R22.5 (40" high) or you could squeeze a 11R22.5 (around 42" high).

great thanks for the info I have not decided yet what im doing Im going tomorrow to take photos of this back woods utility truck with wide monster rims and tires just like im lookin to do Im sure its a 10 bolt Im going to see if they have tire size on it or rim size I will measure and take photos I don't think they are working so I hope its still where I saw it parked I didn't have a camera with me at the time. If nothing else I could always cut my rims up and weld the centers to the monster rims I think they look like 40-44s and also this is a 4x4 K50 I can always put a lift on it to raise it if needed It has 16 leafs on rear and 7 on front now they used it to haul water to fires in the mountains will keep all posted on the progress. I have not got to talk to a bro that turned me on to a monster truck builder going to see his opinion on the matter its going to happen it may take a lot of coin to do it LOL
