Re: Rare/Hard to find parts?

This may just be personal experience but I have had severe difficulty finding an upper and lower fan shroud for my 91 5.7l.

(working/not broken) Power window actuators and the instrument cluster bezel have also proven difficult to find.

A lot of people like the reeling hood light. I think they're pretty cool.

Re: Rare/Hard to find parts?

I got one of those underhood reel lights I took of my 88.

I had trouble finding the steering knuckle/spindle for a 4x4 lmc wants like $600 for them. I got lucky and got one for like $65 or so local. It's kinda hard or expensive to find the smooth center caps for the 4x4's too, if you do find them, they aint cheap and mines beat up.

What about the interior cup holders? they are kinda high on price too new.

I would also think ANY tach cluster, alot of ppl like them.

Re: Rare/Hard to find parts?

The cupholder insert for the '95-'98 center consoles. I have 3 of these consoles and they all have the CD holder instead. Retarded.

454SS wheels would be good grabs too. I need to hit up my local yards and see if I can find one of these wheels so I can have a set of 5.

Re: Rare/Hard to find parts?

black smoothie front bumper, 454 ss wheels. (which were not limited to the ss trucks), all black front grille/clip like the ss's had. ive called every junkyard in 100 miles of me looking for these parts and no one has had em. they only had stock taillights which i want as well. but they wanted 35 each without the wiring. they're less brand new on ebay! lol

Re: Rare/Hard to find parts?

I agree about the pre-95 instrument cluster surrounds. All of them either are busted at the screw holes or the headlight switch have been pushed through. Factory foglight setups seem to be pretty popular.

The airdams aren't such a big deal, though. Non-foglight airdams have the foglight holes marked on the backsides, so you can cut them out.

You lucky son of a...

I had a '99 Yukon that had the cupholder. I should have snagged that thing when the wife and I split and the Yukon went with her.

A lot of guys that run demolition derby cars use the SS rims, they love them. If you can pick up a set or two to save them, that'd be nice.

there is a few demo cars around here with them... but a little elbow grease and a 4 way got them off in the dead of night. 88-98's are extremely popular here, and people are CRAZY about there trucks. i can think of 4? sets that were stolen in the past 2 or 3 weeks. (not by me, I'm not ballsy enough)

Re: Rare/Hard to find parts?

I know I've seen those cup holder in our pick n pull before. What's a good price for them? I'll pull them if I can get my money back.

I think I saw one of them floating around these forums for 20$ shipped. I just pulled an entire dash including the cupholder for 35$ at my junkyard. And that was a "premium" vehicle which I believe costs more.

I personally don't find the cupholders to be that rare, generally they get pulled off at our junkyards and tossed to the side.

Re: Rare/Hard to find parts?

i am having a problem finding a chrome bumper with air intake holes, but no trim holes, as well as whatever brackets hold the foglights on the z71/limited tahoes. i have a decent chrome smoothie bumper if anyone wants it.
