I'm thinking of putting my spare in a notch like this one in the bed of my truck... what do you think?

The same spare tire bracket for mounting the spare in the bed used on later model fleetside trucks bolts into ours. Look for the two holes spaced about 4" apart just in front of the wheel tubs. I haven't installed mine yet but there an exact fit.

What if you take another wheel tub and turn it upsidedown?

Thats where I got the idea the radius piece is actually a trailer hump..

If you turn the wheel sideways it would fit your shorty
