Just Wondering What This Piece Is For. Not Sure If Its Missing Or Broken.. It Sits Just Below The Tranny Cooler Lines

Passing gear kick down cable attaches there. Yours appears to be broken off inside the transmission.

As long as that upper end is intact....and you can get to it easily....you can replace the cable without too much difficulty.....the end of the cable attaches, kinda hooks over, that wire that you see sticking up...

Yes a good pair of needle nose should get the pieces out. Other wise you just gotta pull the pan.
