Smoke from defrost vents

So I turned my heater on today and there was smoke coming out of the defrost vents. I turned the fan off then it wouldn't come back on. After about 30 minutes I tried again and it turned on and insulation/mouse nest was blowing out the vents. Is my motor going bad? should I replace it and vacuum out the heater box?

Re: Smoke from defrost vents

I'm guessing with the heater core leak the smoke was sweet smelling? Mine spelt like normal smoke.

Re: Smoke from defrost vents

Clean the blower housing outa and check the motor while youre there. Mouse nests cans start a fire due to overheated blower motor.

Re: Smoke from defrost vents

Well I replaced the blower motor and cleaned out a little bit of mouse nest and leaves. Problem solved.
