Re: s10 front clip identification

thank you so much for the quick responce. so was i right that the parts are all very broad that they will fit all those years. what im needing to order is basiclly all the brake parts the rotors pads and wheel studs. does it mater what year i give them at the parts store when i go to ask for the parts? i would make sure id take the part with me to make sure but you know how the guys are at the parts store they have to make sure they type stuff in the computer.

Re: s10 front clip identification

All two wheel drive s10 are the same only the blazers were changed in 02 I belief they are metric which means real generic lugs are 12x1.5mm any caliper from 85 up will work just tell them whatever year s10 you wish just don't tell them a 1950 lol

Re: s10 front clip identification

yeah thats funny i once was trying to buyy parts for my 69 and the guy tried to tell me that didnt exsist so i had to have him go to the door to see what a 69 chevy c10 even looked like as if it even mattered anyway thats good thank you for your help.

i found what i need the next question is how do i tell if it was power brakes if i dont have the booster? i know it says on the booster which kind but if i dont have it itll be hard to match hahah also does it matter since i dont have the booster does it matter if i buy booster "a" or "b"? i assume one os for power one is for without.

Re: s10 front clip identification

LOl i hear you there some people have not a clue about classics.as for the booster same deal whatever year s10 you tell them just get the booster and master cylinder for it that is if you are making it power if not the none power master from a 68-73 nova will work if going the disc front drum rear and a corvette M/C if going disc-disc but I am sure I have you all confused now huh? or easy way is go to your local salvage yard find a s10 pick up and round up all the stuff-booster wise-you will need and get the year of that truck to order new when you get it all mocked in.

Re: s10 front clip identification

this is an old thread but ill add this. Unless those brake line brackets were added, there is a chance that is a G-body from clip, they used the same suspension components as s10, but that tab is not an s10 tab, they normally bolt on and hang down on the side of the frame. The center link and motor mount pads are the only things that might be different. Just a heads up if you get some weird fitment issues with motor mounts (assuming your using a stock mount) or steering linkage

Re: s10 front clip identification

I just got off work and have no urge to go back out into the hot to check my parts pile but the more i look at it the more i think those dont look like my stock spindles. Ive got a set of stock control arms and spindles behind my shed. Once I cool off ill go take a peak at them. THe 80s g bodys (monte carlos, grand prix, cutlass etc) all used the same spindles control arms and brakes as an s10. Alot of guys use the tubular g body uppers they make for race cars on s10 with zero trouble. But after looking at these pics something makes me think that front clip might be from a larger car(maybe b body) but before i go throwing a monky wrench in my thought process let me go check out my old stock front end components to be sure, ill get back with something later tonight

EDIT: i found this pic in the link in my sig, its the best ive got at the moment, but my stock control arms seem to be open in the center around the shock tower/stud where as those have just a circle to get to it

Re: s10 front clip identification

If you look at the upper control arms, they both have the oval centers. OP, measure your rotors, the should be 11".

Re: s10 front clip identification

could be later 75-79 nova also..post more pics..as the the front rails where the bumper goes..Also there should be a partial VIN # on the driver side frame rail on the top surface. clean it good and post that..it we decode the year of it at least..thats better to order parts for.

Could also be 78-88 G-body as in monte carlo,cutlass..ect

Re: s10 front clip identification

Thats caliper takes a 52 brake pad so it has to be a fullsize car ,even like 76 cutlass ,regal..
