68 C30 Duramax swap

Looking into the possibility of a swap. Searched the board for a build thread, but didn't have any luck. I know the swaps are out there. Anyone have a link to a build thread? I'd like to see what it entails before I drop the coin to buy the wrecked Duramax that's for sale down the road.

Re: 68 C30 Duramax swap

That thing is ridiculous

but I recommend boxing the frame. I've seen it several times in square body trucks. The weight/rattle/torque tends to destroy a frame mainly under the engine and trans. Cracks around engine mounts and loosens rivets.

At least you're starting with a thicker C30 frame, but if it's going to be used for anything other than show, you might want to box the front portion of the frame.

What engine mounts are you using?
