Re: Good deal on rear shock relocate

What are the benefits of relocating the shocks? I'm sure there is but just don't know the reason.

Re: Good deal on rear shock relocate

Hammond68, when you lower the suspension the angle of the shocks decreases.

Shocks tend to work better when they are more perpendicular to the frame and suspension.

These shock relocater kits allow the shocks to be more upright.

Great question. I know it will need a different length as I've lowered mine 4", installed a shock relocating kit and my original ones are to long. I'm not sure exactly how to measure for the new ones, that's my problem.

Here's a guide to measuring for new shocks on a modified suspension...

https://www.shockwarehouse.com/news/...ure-shocks.cfm

...In a nut shell: measure the gap between shock mounts with your suspension fully compressed and again with the suspension fully extended. The guide describes in good detail how to get those measurements ( where to measure ). Then using those two measurements, find a shock that has the same or very close fully extended and completely compressed measurements and you've got your mark!

^ This is why I'm installing the shock relocate kit and new 5" rear springs , If I'm going to spend the money on Bilstein shocks I want to make sure I've got the right ones .

Thanks , this makes it easier .
