Pop ups

Ads- I don't mind however pop ups that won't let me out unless I close the window is disappointing.

Re: Pop ups

I feel you on that one. I get them on my iPhone and did the whole clear history/ turn on block ups and it minimized the occurrence but didn’t make it completely go away. Now I just repeatedly hit the back arrow and it eventually gets passed the ad and back to my page without the ad. Lame

Re: Pop ups

Clear your history and see if that helps. Also if you have this site as a favorite, delete and then re-add. That worked for me on another site that I got the pop ups.

Re: Pop ups

It's not the site - it's probably a browser helper object (BHO) you've inadvertently downloaded. Even though they're called "helpers" what they do is redirect you. You can try clearing cache and see if that helps, but I would recommend using Malwarebytes - it's a free download (you don't need the paid version). Let it scan and repair whatever it finds.

Re: Pop ups

There should be a pop-up blocker somewhere you can activate.

How many times DO you visit youtube?

Re: Pop ups

I’ve researched the issue (googling iOS redirect nets some results on Apple forums) as I had it happen here and other legit (not porn) forums. Some people who seem to be pretty smart say it’s the ad network the site works with. They recommended complaining to the site so the site can complain to their ad network. Then hopefully the ad network will look into who they’re selling to that is doing the redirect and put a stop to it. I had the Amazon one, sorry no screenshot.

But there is hope! In iOS go to Settings, Privacy, Advertising. There will be an option for “Reset Advertising Identifier”, do that. I did it about a month ago and have been redirect free ever since. The only side effect will be that ads on websites won’t be as personalized, at least not until “they” track you enough on your new identifier. I’m sure there’s a similar option for Android if they’re having the same issue.

Before that I tried ad blockers, cleared cache and deleted history numerous times only to have the redirect return, sometimes within minutes of installing an ad blocker! Don’t bother trying chrome or another browser, the couple I tried were all still effected. Didn’t get very far with disabling java as website functionality basically ceased to exist on most of the sites I visit. Just do the Reset Advertising Identifier and forget the other nonsense.

Re: Pop ups

This looks more like a scam than an ad. "You just won" BS for something you showed no interest in that they figure as many as possible will fall for.

Re: Pop ups

If you do what overdriven said above it should stop.it. I have yet to identify the ad network causing it, however, it's happening everywhere as I had it happen on eBay today using Android.

I'll contact Google, but i'm.not sure they have identified what is causing this yet. I have gone through all the code on the site, checked for hacked versions etc. Nothing has been found on the server side.

Disable/reset your ad identifier, and see if any possible apps or similar have been installed that could cause the.problem.

Re: Pop ups

I also just uninstalled the last app I installed this started afterwards.
See if that helps.
Must be like a free puppy...

Thanks though hope there is a solution as this about the only forum I frequently visit.

Re: Pop ups

I don't get the pop-ups, but for quite a while now, after I have posted, I have to hit the back button numerous times to get away from what I posted. Sometimes it woks normal and other times it's one step at a time, takes me back to my edit, then my original post, then the thread w/o my post, then back to the forum page. Sometimes it's back to the same place over and over till I double click, and then only back one step.
