and thanks farmyard. she has seen better days but the white has grown on me.

Wow, could there be a harder plug to configure? Housings wedges connectors receptacles and then again for the male side!

Re: Project: Long Time Coming

I was able to get a few more things done today. got the fire extinguisher mounted on the trans hump and finished the wiring on the gauge cluster. but as it turns out i don't have the pigtail that i need to connect to the transmission. so ill be ordering that tomoro. i am going to try and make a digital copy of the template i made for anyone who wants to use it. gonna take me a few days to get it done though.

Re: Project: Long Time Coming

So i meant to post on here earlier but had my grandmother pass away so i had to head home to attend the funeral and help out my grandfather. my grandmother went out as best as can be expected. coherent of what was happening to her but comfortable and with all of her family with her.

in other news. last month i was able to finally tackle rewiring the truck with the help of 2 guys here in Washington. sadly during the rewire someone forgot to tighten down the wire loom that plugs into the firewall to the engine harness and thus the truck didn't start. After returning from seeing family i was able to get some help trouble shooting and found the ignition feed not getting power to the ignition control box (MSD digital 6AL-2). we trouble shot it and now she runs great. now all i need to do is get the speedometer calibrated and the water temp gauge to read and i will be all set.

Re: Project: Long Time Coming

So my amazing wife let me buy some new parts as an early Christmas present. I made the decision to get a set of Richmond Gear 4.11:1 gears, Eaton Performance Detroit TrueTrac limited slip Diff carrier, Moser Diff Cover, Yukon Gear and axle master install kit with Timken Bearings, Moroso lug nuts and Royal Purple Gear oil to keep it lubed up. heres a few pictures of the pile of boxes/parts and the install.

Re: Project: Long Time Coming

next step is a pair of Moser Axles and new axle bearings. hoping to swap those in when the 500 mile break in has finished on the new gears. so far so good. just have to not get crazy until the gears are properly worn in.

Re: Project: Long Time Coming

been a busy few weeks i ended up buying a few things to get the truck going. Holley sniper EFI, new fuel cell, braided steel fuel lines, and then went to the local pick a part and got a donor fuel door and part of the surrounding panel to make a fuel door in the bed. also relocated the tailgate handle and started to shave the tailgate. heres a few pictures of the progress so far.
