Electric fan kit ?

Which brand or set-up is everyone using .

I made my own. Not that hard to do and way cheaper.

2 roll's of Wire RED & BLack for hot & grounds
1- Thermastat controller for low speed fan
1-Relay
1-Toggle switch
1-36 volt 250 amp Micro switch
About 10" of thin metal to make a paddle with.

I redid the wiring though. I bought a 5 connector relay and have the low speed wired to terminal 87A which comes on whenever the car is on but the fan has a thermastat so unless it's hot the fan want come on until it reaches the set point. Then I wired the high speed to 87 on the same relay this turns on when the AC comes on and it cut's off the low speed to the fan. Once the car starts moving the pedal will cut the micro switch off which in turns cut the fan off.I didn't want to take the system a part to install a brainery switch and this has worked great for over 2 years now in the 64 Impala and 4 years in my 71 C 10.

I bought 2 12" electric fans with relay and the temp probe that you stick into the rad on ebay, so far been working great with no issues.

I'm using a jeep cherokee fan mounted in the stock BB radiator shroud. There are a few threads about it on the site. It's powered off a flex-a-lite controller (p/n 31163). It's not the cheapest, but it has the following features:
manual on, and manual off
adjustable fan start setpoint
soft start and variable speed control based on temperature
fan start on a/c compressor signal
in-water temperature probe (not radiator fin probe)

I like this setup more than running a relay connected to a temperature switch, but that's me.

I am using a ford windstar dual fan setup in my 72K10. It has a 6.0 LS swap but I used the stock radiator. Fits good. I trigger the fans from my ECM but stand alone controls are available. i think it was $45 at the upull..

Frees up space in the engine bay, frees up some strain to engine, more efficient than a fan clutch.

Electric fans won't cut your arm off if you accidentally hit them, and they're quieter.

With my LS swap in my K10 the transfer case is in the stock position. The engine is very close to the firewall. With the electric fans I will be able to add a 700r4 or 4l60 (2" longer than a turbo 350) with the transfer case in stock position just by sliding the engine forward...and it's much quieter too.

Ford/Lincoln mid 90s V8 engine fans move over 2500 CFM and they can be bought new for $60 or so. They have small shroud as well which can be modified to fit. With relays and other small parts you can have an electric fan set up for around $100.

So I found a Jeep fan (and it's a 2014 replacement for the 2002 recall )

AND I found a Volvo C70 relay setup, sooooo...

Hypothetically, could I wire the Jeep fan to the Volvo relay???

Yes you can use the volvo set up. I'm using late 90's f body fans with a temp switch to ground the relay for now but I want one that comes on a little sooner.

For mine (drag car): quicker warm up time, and you can allow the fan to keep running with the engine off to cool it between rounds.
